Last year, filmmaker Luke Aker decided to have some fun when he put his beater ’96 Nissan Maxima on Craigslist. He also made a video promoting the car in the style of an actual luxury-car commercial. Here it is:

What he didn’t expect was for the video to go completely viral—it’s racked up nearly 2 million YouTube hits since its debut—and for Nissan to take notice. And by “take notice,” we mean buy the car and restore it.
